Take in the Blyde River Canyon and experience the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre
Discover the splendour of the third-largest Canyon in the world with a leisurely interpretive boat cruise along the lush subtropical banks of the Blyde River Canyon.
View Africa’s largest active Tufa falls - the spectacular 200m Kadishi Tufa Waterfall and the famous Three Rondavels – with an uncanny resemblance to traditional African huts.
The abundance and diversity of wildlife, including numerous fish and antelope species as well as Hippos and Crocodiles, primate species and a diversity of birdlife such as the African Fish Eagle, African Finfoot and much more, will keep you enthralled while you learn more about the natural history of the Blyde River Canyon.
After lunch we visit one of the most successful conservation & animal rehabilitation centers dedicated to preserving our wildlife, and experience a behind-the-scenes look at the extreme dedication and skill of our animal conservationists.
We visit Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre – the largest in South Africa – and learn about techniques employed on injured, poisoned and abandoned animals and birds of prey. We’ll be invited to handle certain of the birds and animals.
